Small actions make a big difference. Together, we can create change.
Sustainability is at the forefront of our mission.
We start with natural materials to extract our dye: some are food scraps collected from local restaurants, floral waste from local florists, plants + flowers grown in my home, or extracts we source from sustainable suppliers. After our dye extraction, we compost the materials and save the remaining dye for pigment making or future projects when possible. We currently compost about 100 pounds per year in our studio! To save on water usage, we use snow when we can and hope to use rain water in our studio in the future as well.
As a small business, sustainable sourcing is a struggle and we are continually working to source ethically. We only use natural materials for our fibers and product blanks and source from trusted suppliers when we can. Additionally, we reuse our studio scraps for future products and workshop opportunities.
We are committed to transparently sharing our processes as the business grows and will continue to work to eliminate waste where possible. Thank you for supporting the mission and shopping small!
